　　WARSAW--Polish natural gas monopoly Polskie Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (PGN.WA) reported an 80% drop in third-quarter net profit Monday, as the regulated price of gas didn't keep pace with the rising cost of gas imported from Russia.

　　The state-controlled company's quarterly net profit of 65 million zlotys ($19.9 million) was above the PLN47 million net loss forecast from a Dow Jones Newswires survey of eight analysts. A year ago, the company reported net profit of PLN319 million.
